Tomson Hall, located at the center of the tree-covered campus, houses the Education Department, the College’s six language departments plus St. Olaf’s World Languages Center. The design is based upon collaboration and community—which express the mission of the college.
Spaces in the building are required to meet competing criteria—inviting and comfortable yet secure; a sense of permanence, but flexible and easily adaptable to institutional innovation.
The building strengthens connections between academic and administration functions and is designed to promote cross-disciplinary interactions.
