The new Veterinary Isolation Facility serves Minnesota’s citizens and animal populations by identifying and monitoring emerging diseases, developing new diagnostic methods, vaccines, treatments, and preparing the next generation of veterinary scientists.

The new Veterinary Isolation Facility also supports the College of Veterinary Medicine’s leadership in infectious diseases research: attracting renowned faculty, facilitating collaborative research among departments, and the ABSL-2 and ABSL-3 capabilities provide broad access to grant opportunities for infectious disease research.
