Since 1994, Alliiance has partnered with General Mills to strategically transform the James Ford Bell Technical Center, continuously advancing its research and development capabilities. Our work has focused on creating adaptable pilot plant environments, optimizing laboratory and office space, and planning the critical infrastructure required to support evolving products and technologies. This includes specialized support spaces for storage, pre-scale, packaging design, and finished sample storage—each designed to enable seamless growth and innovation.
Major milestones in this long-term partnership include:
- 2015: Completion of the 40,000-square-foot Wing 5, which houses analytical and microbiology laboratories that perform more than 12,000 quality and compliance tests each month.
- 2018: Renovation of 215,000 square feet within the 650,000-square-foot campus to integrate capabilities from the Riverside Technical Center.
- Planned: A new 40,000-square-foot Wing 18 pilot plant addition, designed to expand research and development capacity further and strengthen infrastructure for future innovation.
