Cloquet Forestry Center (CFC) & Hubacheck Wilderness Research Center (HWRC) serve as research and outreach centers for the University of Minnesota. CFC is located on 3,400 acres of forest and wetlands in Cloquet, Minnesota and HWRC is located on 365 acres of boreal forest at the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness near Ely, Minnesota.
Both sites provide excellent settings for field-based teaching, applied learning, and research. Programs range from forestry and wildlife research, undergraduate and graduate level courses, continuing education for professionals, to classes for communities. To support the programs, each site consists of classrooms, dormitory buildings, research facilities, and food service.
