Alliiance Projects Highlighted in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s Guide to Twin Cities Architecture

The Twin Cities are home to some of the most beautiful and inspiring buildings in the Midwest—and we are proud to have played a role in several of them.

Mpls.St.Paul Magazine recently published a “Field Guide to Urban Exploring: Architecture Edition,” celebrating the architecture that defines the Twin Cities and inviting readers to see familiar sites through a fresh lens. Among the featured spaces are four landmark projects that Alliiance helped bring to life:

  • Guthrie Theater: A bold and imaginative structure on the riverfront, designed by Jean Nouvel with Alliiance as the local architect. Together, we turned a striking vision into one of the most iconic theaters in the country.
  • Minneapolis Central Library: A collaboration with Cesar Pelli, where Alliiance served as Architect of Record to help create a welcoming, light-filled civic hub in the heart of downtown.
  • Target Center: This major entertainment venue is a fixture of downtown Minneapolis that provides a gathering space for sports, music, and community.
  • Butler Square: A historic warehouse turned vibrant mixed-use space, Butler Square reflects our passion for adaptive reuse and honoring the stories buildings carry with them.

This guide is an invitation to explore, observe, and connect with the design all around us. We are proud to be part of that narrative.
