A Tribute to Thomas J. DeAngelo

With heavy hearts, we mourn the loss of former Alliiance Principal, Tom DeAngelo, FAIA. Tom served as our firm’s president from 1993 to 2009 and retired in 2023. Tom’s passion for design excellence left a lasting impact on our firm and the world of architecture. His design contributions represent a holistic commitment to the art, science, and craft of the profession.

Tom worked on numerous corporate and public projects including the Hennepin County Public Works Facility which recently received the AlA Minnesota 25 Year Award, the Guthrie Theater, Allianz Life Corporate Headquarters, and multiple projects at the University of Minnesota.

In 2005, Tom was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects and in 2008, he served as president of AIA Minnesota. Tom, we are grateful for your contributions. We will miss you.
