Shane Wirth

Shane is a dedicated and detail-oriented airport terminal planner with experience in terminal and airport master-planning at over 28 locations. He has been involved with all facets of airport-terminal planning from analysis to conceptual studies. He has assessed existing and future facility needs for a wide range of clients, from large international airports to mid-sized regional airports. He has conducted focused studies on security screening, international processing capacity, aircraft parking, and passenger-boarding-bridge utilization. And he was involved with authoring portions of the widely utilized Airport Cooperative Research Projects Airport Passenger Terminal Planning and Design Guidebook. Always staying on top of current trends, projects, and industry stories, Shane keeps the aviation staff up-to-date with a weekly newsletter called Aviiators News.

A member of the Airport Consultants Council, Shane has held the positions of vice chair and chair for the Terminal and Facilities Committee, and for many years, he lectured at UC Berkeley’s Airport Systems Planning and Design Short Course on Airport Terminal Planning. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Iowa State University. When not coaching his kids’ sports teams, Shane enjoys playing sand volleyball, skiing out west, and traveling to new destinations with his wife and family.
