Tom Hysell

Tom has led many of Alliiance’s most high-profile projects, building rapport and trust with demanding clients and managing complex teams of specialized consultants. With experience in both design and construction, Tom understands the complex challenges of the building industry and is committed to keeping architects informed of vital advances and innovations in this rapidly changing field. He is actively engaged in firm management, serving on Alliiance’s executive committee. He leads the firm’s overall marketing efforts, helping to strategize and coordinate business development across all the firm’s specialized practice areas as well as heading up the firm’s risk management efforts.

Tom is a former president of AIA Minnesota and is in the midst of a 10-year appointment to the national AIA Document Committee that is working to revise and update the AIA contracts. An alumnus of St. Olaf College and the University of Minnesota, Tom maintains an active interest in the community. He is a trustee for the Minnesota Museum of American Art and is on the Architecture Program Advisory Committee for Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis. An avid bicyclist, he helped Alliiance achieve a Bike Friendly Business Bronze Award from the League of American Bicyclists.
