Tomson Hall, located at the center of this tree-covered campus, houses the Education Department, the College’s six language departments plus St. Olaf’s World Languages Center. The design is based upon collaboration and community – which express the mission of the college.
Spaces in the building are required to meet competing criteria – inviting and comfortable yet secure; a sense of permanence, but flexible and easily adaptable to institutional innovation.
The building strengthens connections between academic and administration functions, and is designed to promote cross-disciplinary interactions.
