Ernesto Ruiz-GarciaAIA, LEED AP BD+C
With a strong belief in design excellence, Ernesto has led design teams on a wide variety of projects nationwide, including higher education, workplace, residential, and cultural buildings. He practices a collaborative design approach, and has a passion for implementing design ideas.
A native of Puerto Rico, Ernesto received a bachelor’s degree in environmental design from the Universidad de Puerto Rico and a master’s in architecture from the University of Minnesota. He has taught at the Universidad de Puerto Rico and the University of Minnesota and remains engaged with the College of Design as a guest critic and mentor for students.
Ernesto is an avid traveler and landscape photographer. He also enjoys salsa and ballroom dancing (which is how he met his wife), boating on the St. Croix river, and making home-made vegetarian pizza.
